What is SPC Flooring?
SPC flooring stands for Stone Plastic Composite, also known as ‘rigid flooring’, it is an emerging type of vinyl flooring in Kenya that combines the appearance of wood with the durability of stone.
SPC with it's stone composite core is more stable and durable than a wood core and it costs less. This new generation type of flooring is fast becoming one of the growing choices in Kenya for people looking for flooring solutions that are stylish, hardwearing, but also easy to install.

The SPC core is what makes this type of flooring so incredibly durable, maintaining its form even over uneven subfloors. This means that you can install SPC rigid core flooring on any level, over almost any existing (hard surface) subfloor, and for any amount of foot traffic.
What is SPC Flooring Made From?
SPC flooring is made from a core of stone plastic composite, normally limestone and plasticisers. Like other types of flooring, such as LVT, the outer layers are made up of real wood or laminate effect for a ‘real feel’ of wood, plus underlay for cushioning underfoot. It also features a coating to make it 100% waterproof, extreme heat resistant and to prevent fading in areas exposed to direct sunlight.
What is IXPE underlay?
IXPE underlayment (Irradiated Cross-Linked Polyethylene) is a premium, closed-cell foam used under floating floors for superior sound absorption, moisture protection and comfort, featuring a fine texture, waterproof properties and good thermal insulation, making it ideal for SPC wood flooring.
